1.8 Ji-ari Shakuhachi “SEIKADO” in D signed by Kitahara Kōzan – restored by Chikudo
This master-crafted ji-ari from SEIKADO workshop is signed by its founder Kitahara Kōzan 初代 北原篁山 and made before WWII.
This shakuhachi has a rather mat and smooth sound compared to the modern Tozan flutes (due to a wider bore in the upper part).
I repaired a crack in the roots by inserting a silver inlay.
Ji-ari shakuhachi of an intermediate level.
