Kinko Ji-Ari Shakuhachi 2.0 in C – CHIKUHŌ 竹鳳 – Restored by Chikudo
This is an outstanding shakuhachi of a high craftsmanship. The maker Chikuhō 竹鳳 (Bambou Phoenix) is a contemporary craftsman; I’ve already seen some other flutes of high quality from him.
The Madake bamboo is thick and dense and very pleasant in hands.
This Ji-ari has a great deep and rich tone with an easy response.
Otsu no Ro is utterly addictive !
This shakuhachi had several cracks and deserved a careful restoration that I did with traditional 2 Rin rattan threads (the finest one).
