Shakuhachi Ji-mori – Nobekan – 2.0 in C – Madake from USA
Nice madake bamboo dense and thick cultivated by Keiji Oshima in USA.
8 nodes – one piece (nobekan)
There are two skin scratches visible on the upper part (see pictures)
The bore wasn’t completely corresponding to ideal characteristics so I added some Ji on the embouchure and on the opening bell end to reduce internal diameter. The bore is left pretty natural except those two ji plastered parts.
The lacquer is Seshime pure Urushi applied in 3 layers.
The flute is very well balanced, powerful and well tuned with a beautiful velvet sound typical “Ji-nashi”
